Mexican Embroidery

Embroidery Mexico

With my fever for embroidery still in full effect, I came across a flickr member who has a set dedicated to Mexican Embroidery. The photographer named Karen Elwell shares her pictures on the flickr profile called Teyacapan.

Cat Craft

OMG! This guy is my cat hero! He started off with just one cat and now has a village of over 600! He built a city for them and they live on his 30 acre property. Read this article about the cat city.

Back to School

TAC1
After reading my September Susan Miller Horoscope, I am following her advice (and my urge) to go back to school. This fall I am committing all of my extra money to taking classes. I found a bunch of amazing places in the NY area and beyond! The first place I came across is a brand new studio in Park slope called The Textile Arts Center
TAC2
They offer classes from the basic knitting and sewing skills to learning how to embroider and quilt. They also offer childrens classes such as weaving and they will host kids bday parties and they have an afterschool program. They are so amazing! They also have artist showcases AND work with Bags for the People which is an organization that works with the public to create reusable tote bags from recycled fabrics.

Guess Who?

On friday night I stumbled upon a party where I stumbled upon this great idea. The people who lived at the party house (I have no idea who they are) had made their own Guess Who? board game with pictures of their friends instead of the usual creeps that Milton Bradley has on the pieces.
